<p>Journalists and students interested in international reporting can attend a course in Prague.
<br />The Foreign Correspondent Training Course, offered by Transitions Online,  aims to provide an introduction to international reporting, through  training by respected foreign correspondents and a practical reporting  project.
<br />Sample topics include pitching to editors, adapting to multimedia and  breaking into the field. The course will allow participants to apply  their new skills to a real-life reporting assignment. Confirmed trainers  include BBC's Rob Cameron, freelance photojournalist Dean Cox and  Nikolay Pavlov from Radio Free Europe RFE .
<br />The course will be conducted in English. The course fee includes accommodation, but not travel costs.

<br />The Photojournalism Course, offered by Transitions Online,  aims to provide an introduction to taking, editing and selling  photographs. It will focus on both classroom training sessions and  practical shooting and editing sessions.  Sample topics include  lighting, post-production and multimedia presentations.
<br />The course will be led by Dean Cox,  a freelance photojournalist who has sold his work to the Associated  Press, the New York Times, the International Herald Tribune, EurasiaNet  and Bloomberg News.
<br />Students are required to bring their own cameras, but organizers say  &quot;it doesn&rsquo;t matter if it&rsquo;s the cheapest camera on the market or a  top-of-the range Canon or Nikon.&quot; The course will be conducted in  English.         <![CDATA[<p>The Daniel Pearl Awards, sponsored by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists,   recognize and reward excellence in cross-border investigative   reporting. There is also a special citation for reporting carried out in   challenging circumstances.
<br />The award was created in honor of Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel   Pearl, who was slain by militants in Pakistan in 2002. Past ICIJ award   winners have reported about abuses faced by immigrants in American   workplaces and the involvement of Sweden in the CIA secret renditions   program.
<br />The competition is open to journalists of any kind of media who have   reported in at least two countries on a topic of world significance.  Two  US$5,000 first-place prizes will be awarded, one to a U.S.-based   journalist or news outlet and one to a non-U.S.-based reporter or   outlet.  Five finalists will receive US$1,000.

        <![CDATA[<p>VIDEA (Victoria International Development  Education Association) is looking for submissions for their youth (19  and under) photography competition. The theme is: &quot;Picture a  world......&quot; and photographers get to fill in the sentence with their  own interpretation of their world, their community, their vision, voice  and perspective.
<br />Photos will be judged by a panel of distinguished photographers. The  top 15 submissions will be featured at VIDEA&rsquo;s upcoming Youth Open Mic  at Solstice Cafe in Victoria, with a special prize awarded to the top  finalist.
<br />Submission are accepted and encouraged from around the globe!

        <![CDATA[<p>The Clore Leadership Programme aims to shape emerging creative leaders in the arts through in-depth of about 20 people a year.
<br />The fellowship, which lasts seven months, includes a 3-month work  placement, training courses, mentoring and coaching. Fellows will also  attend a residential course in Kent, England from September 12 to 23,  2011.
<br />Fellows must have at least five years experience and be able to  demonstrate leadership and knowledge/experience in the cultural sector.  Candidates from outside the UK can apply for the International  Scholarships on the Clore Leadership Programme as well as for unfunded  fellowships.
<br />UK music and arts reporter Paul Cutts used the award to travel to the  US in 2008-2009, where he spent five months editing a Native American  newspaper for the Shoshone and Arapaho tribes in the Lower Rocky  mountains of Wyoming.
<br />There are a number of general and specialist fellowships available,  of those, one is of particular interest to journalists and editors:  &ldquo;Sustainable Convergence of Media.&rdquo;

<br />There are 20 fellows selected to attend the TED  conferences. Participants will also have  the opportunity to attend pre-conference programs with training by  speakers.
<br />The TED Fellows Program targets candidates from the Asia/Pacific  region, Africa, the Caribbean and the Middle East, but anyone over 18 is  eligible. Applicants must be proficient in English.

        <![CDATA[<p>Selected fellows can develop their business and economic reporting   skills by enrolling in a three-semester master's program at NYU&rsquo;s  Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute. The fellowship, funded in part by The Wall Street Journal,   covers tuition expenses for two semesters, travel to New York and  other  incidental costs. It also provides a stipend of US$22,000.
<br />Both seasoned and young journalists are invited to apply. Judges are   looking for journalists with a passion for business journalism and   evidence that they can and will take full advantage of this opportunity &ndash;   whether in clips, story ideas, personal essay or an interview.  Work   experience is a definite plus, but isn&rsquo;t the only criteria.
