well as electronic media and social media outlets (news websites) can apply for credentials to cover this meeting. Who: Representatives from 2,000 NGOs (non-governmental organizations) from all over the world; UN and government officials; UN agencies; corporations; civil society; educational, health and financial institutions; academics; private sector speakers from business and philanthropy; citizen activists and journalists will gather together for this conference.
What: The conference is entitled Advance Global Health: Achieve the MDGs.
Round tables and workshops will discuss broad subjects of interest to civil society regarding global health and the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals including the role of NGOs and civil society in helping to achieve the MDGs as well as the important questions of equity, rights and progress towards attaining the MDGs and advancing the global health

The youth coverage will inform their peers, immediate and affiliated campuses as well as their communities about the importance of the Conference to the overall agenda of the United Nations as it relates to health and will provide a perspective the work of its affiliated
non-governmental organizations in disseminating this agenda to the wider community, including college students.
Process: Applications should include:
(1) a cover letter that:
a. expresses interest in covering this conference
b. explains how you plan to disseminate the information to your peers and campus community and beyond
c. lists any prior journalistic experience or conference coverage
d. provides information on skills and experience in any of the following areas: print or magazine reporting; broadcast media including radio and television (e.g. news or documentaries); and social media. [Experience in these areas is an essential requirement]
e. includes contact information by email and phone

(3) samples of previous journalistic reporting if available
Students and recent graduates matriculated in journalism programs and majors will be given preference. Other majors are welcome to apply. Materials will be reviewed and you will be notified of our final decision.
